The winner of the Westminster Kennel Club show was Miss P., a 15-inch Beagle from British Columbia. Miss P. beat out more than 2,711 dogs of 192 breeds.
Miss P, full name “Ch Tashtins Looking for Trouble,” is only the 2nd ever beagle to win the most prestigious award, beating out winners from six other dog groups.
Miss P. began her road to victory on Monday night, with a win in the Hound Group. She continued on to triumph over a Shih Tzu owned by Patty Hearst, a Standard Poodle, and an English Sheepdog. Another unsuccessful finalist was a Portuguese Water Dog, the cousin of President Obama’s dog Sunny.
No prize money comes with the win, only prestige. And doggie treats.
