A gunman fired into a cafe in Denmark on Saturday, targeting Swedish artist Lars Vilks, who has drawn caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad. One man was killed and three police officers injured.
The Copenhagen cafe was hosting a free speech event Saturday. The gunman fired some 30 shots through the windows of the Krudttoenden cafe.
The gunman got away and so far, there has been no claim of responsibility.
The attack came a month after Islamic militants gunned down a dozen at the Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris.
“I heard someone firing with an automatic weapons and someone shouting. Police returned the fire and I hid behind the bar. I felt surreal, like in a movie,” Niels Ivar Larsen, one of the speakers at the event, told the TV2 channel, according to the Associated Press.
