Country Singer Gretchen Wilson: Animal Rights Activists Should Protect Unborn Babies

Following 2013’s controversial documentary Blackfish​, which explored the alleged mistreatment of Orca whales at the famed animal park Sea World, multiple country stars pulled out from performing at SeaWorld, including Trace Adkins, Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood and Martina McBride. Gretchen Wilson chose to stay on, receiving a deluge of hateful tweets calling the singer all kinds of friendly four-letter words. Wilson took to Twitter where she lambasted her critics for saving the whales, but not the unborn. She tweeted, “Wouldn’t it be nice if this much effort could go into saving unborn babies?”Then she followed with this tweet:

Animal rights activists, and for that matter, environmentalists, have been predominantly popular in left-wing circles. Gary Francione, the legal scholar who classified animal rights as an abolitionist movement, openly stated in a 2012 debate that he supports abortion well into the 9th month of pregnancy.
