DNC’s Wasserman-Schultz *Shocked!* by MSM’s Bias Against Israel

Shark Tank Media has released audio of Democratic National Committee Chairman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) expressing shock over biased coverage at the hands of MSNBC and CNN in reporting on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

While speaking to a group of Jewish Americans in her home state, Wasserman-Schultz described witnessing first-hand — presumably for the first time — the bias of a media usually in her party’s favor.

Readying herself for the speaking engagement, Wasserman-Schultz recalled tuning into MSNBC and immediately noticing a clear Palestinian-only perspective emerge as she watched, taking in the devastating images of the war in Gaza:

Clearly they were highlighting what Israel had done to Gaza and the plight to Palestinians. And my first thought was, ‘Where is the balance? Where is the spotlight on what Jewish children in Israel go through from being victims of rocket attacks?’ … The media’s coverage — its not just MSNBC — I’ve seen it on CNN and even in the broadcast media as well.

The audio also reveals a differing approach than President Obama in calling out Islamic terrorism by name and saying that Jews are the very reason groups like ISIS carry out attacks.

“Unfortunately what happens particularly with the global war on terror and the Islamic fundamentalists that are combating and leading it, we are the crux of the reason that they are engaged in that fight,” Wasserman-Schultz told the audience.

“Every time we think that we can maybe ease back a bit and that their has been progress,” she continued, “we’re reminded that people hate us because of who we are.”

The congresswoman said there is “work to do” to remedy the bias against Jews and offered a few solutions:

There’s a very simple solution to this: it’s called recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish and Democratic state. Let’s make sure that we can adopt a two-state solution, where you have a Palestinian state and the State of Israel living side-by-side in peace. And let’s make sure that we have communities around the world — the adults — not raising their children, and teaching their children to hate us, to hate Israel, to hate Jews, simply because of who we are.
