TMZ posted a November recording of a 911 call made by the wife and sister-in-law of Scott Stapp, the lead singer and lyricist of the now-disbanded late-1990s rock group Creed. They were calling to warn police that Sapp was riding around on his bicycle believing he was a CIA agent whose mission was to kill President Obama.
Stapp’s mental problems became public in mid November when police found him passed out on the side of the road:
TMZ has obtained a Madison County Florida Sheriff’s Dept. report which says deputies found Scott on the side of a road Nov. 13 and he appeared wasted, incoherent and rambling that someone was trying to poison him. Cops placed him on a 72-hour psych hold.
Jaclyn Stapp — who filed for divorce last month — then filed new legal docs claiming Scott is off the hinges, threatening to kill himself and his AA sponsor, and she says he has the wherewithal to do it … he has guns.
According to the police report … Jaclyn said Scott hears phantom voices and has visions of people on fire. She says he’s also paranoid. He left a message with the dean of his kid’s school on November 10, warning that the school was about to become the target of an ISIS attack.
As for why he’s out of his head, Jaclyn says he’s on a potentially fatal drug binge, fueled by steroids, weed, cocaine, PCP, Special K, Crystal meth, and various Rx drugs.
After leaving the psychiatric facility, Stapp disappeared, which is when his sister-in-law called 911 (his wife eventually got on).
Scott had just gone AWOL from a mental facility late last month, when his sister-in-law told the 911 dispatcher he was cruising around his neighborhood, shirtless on a bicycle. She says the former Creed frontman claimed to be a CIA agent and his mission was to kill Obama.
Stapp claimed in a rambling video the IRS is trying to ruin his life because he’s been trashing Obama.
Jaclyn Stapp, Scott’s wife, joins the 40-minute 911 call, telling the dispatcher Scott had printed out 400 – 600 pages of CIA documents which he supposedly found online, put them in a book bag and took off on his bike.
The 2 women were pleading with the dispatcher to snare Scott and take him back to the psych ward.
As cops were dispatched, Scott placed his own 911 call [embedded below], saying his wife had stolen his truck and that’s why he was on a bike.
TMZ also reported that Jaclyn Stapp has filed legal documents trying to have Scott Stapp committed for a a 60-day psychiatric hold.
