JetBlue Receives Bomb Threats, Faces Boycotts After Giving Cops Free Flights To Attend NYPD Funerals

Earlier in the week, JetBlue Airways publicly announced they will be offering free flights to cops around the country looking to attend the funerals of NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu who were both executed in retaliation for the death of Eric Garner.

Despite JetBlue’s very generous offer, the airline has since received one bomb threat and multiple calls for boycotts on Twitter under the Hashtag #BoycottJetBlue.

Friday night, a Twitter user with the handle SwattingSquad tweeted a bomb had been placed on flight JBU1007 departing from Long Beach (CA), and they were going to “detonate it soon.” JetBlue took the threat seriously and immediately tweeted:

Swattingsquad’s Twitter account has since been closed and Flight Aware Live Flight Tracking indicates that Flight JBU1007 safely arrived in Tacoma, WA 42 minutes late, according to LibertyUnyielding.
