The Treehouse Theater in New York City will host a live reading of ‘The Interview’ on stage, December 27th to give “an opportunity for people to come together in the name of free speech, in defiance of all who have threatened it.”
Sony Pictures canceled the release of the movie after hackers threatened 9/11 style violence if the film were to be released. The movie is a comedy about an assassination plot to kill North Korean dictator, Kim Jung Un.
“The Treehouse production will feature members of the comic Upright Citizen’s Brigade theater and will be held in its 50-seat black box theater.”
Plans for the film remain uncertain but a lawyer for Sony Pictures said the film would be distributed at some point.
