The Potawatomi Zoo is on pace to break the season attendance record it set in 2015.
“Improved exhibits, new animals and experiences, new attractions and continued improvements in operations and facilities are all contributing factors,” Marcy Dean, the zoo’s executive director, said. “We’re grateful to our community for another fantastic year and we look forward to providing even more outstanding visitor experiences in 2016 and beyond.”
The zoo is in the first years of implementing a $37 million master plan announced in 2015. Changes since the plan was announced include allowing zoo patrons to interact closely with certain animals and the opening of an endangered species carousel and playground.
