The NBA threw the book at LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling, banning him for life, fining him $2.5 million and raising the possibility of a forced sale of the team over racist remarks he allegedly made to an ex-girlfriend that surfaced on a tape recording.
“This is 100 percent Magic’s plan,” a league official intimately involved in the buying and selling of franchises told Yahoo Sports.
To NBA Fans, I want to put a stop to a rumor. I am not trying to buy the Clippers, they already have an owner.
As for Sterling: in 2010, 2011, and 2012 at least, he donated $10,000 to both the Black Business Association and the United Negro College Fund. In 2011, at least, he donated $5,000 to the Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP. Does that not make him a racist? I have no idea. But that’s what’s in the filings, for better or worse.
A woman claims she has been sexually discriminated against after being refused a haircut in a Weymouth barbers. And Angela Sanchez said it wasn’t the first time she had been refused her requested ‘short, back and sides’ cut in the Weymouth and Dorchester areas of Dorset. She says she has been turned away from more than a dozen barber shops – and thinks it is because she is a woman.
Children and young adults who start antidepressant therapy at high doses, rather than the “modal” [average or typical] prescribed doses, appear to be at greater risk for suicidal behavior during the first 90 days of treatment.
STILL, IT IS OUR contention that Rogers made a questionable decision at best to visit Bundy’s ranch and interject Elkhart County into this fray by wearing his sheriff’s uniform. There’s no doubt that this type of debate regarding the federal government is in Rogers’ wheelhouse. He is making quite the name for himself as an authority on such matters, which is likely why he was invited to the Bundy ranch.
During that same gathering, in which Rogers says he was not present for, Bundy made what many consider racist remarks regarding black people and whether or not they were “better off” as slaves. Should Rogers, whether he paid for the trip or not, gotten involved with the Bundy situation as a representative of Elkhart County?
We are told, and lefties pretend, that schools are not part of their orthodoxy. That they do not indoctrinate their kids. That conservatives are just hyperbolic and paranoid. That, to put it scientifically, is hogwash. For example:
It’s probably safe to say that most Americans are unaware of what the term “fracking” means. If you’ve heard of it, the details can be hard to pin down due to the controversy surrounding the method of gas extraction. With mainstream movies like Gasland and The Promised Land on their side, those opposing fracking have easily buried the truth below layers of myths. Fortunately, as we no longer live in a time when Hollywood and the left are the only media outlets, understanding what fracking truly entails is not completely lost.
Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned for life from the NBA and given the maximum fine possible for racist remarks ripped by many inside and outside the world’s biggest basketball league.
There’s one tiny wrinkle in this incident, though — the students weren’t carrying real guns.
